<h3><strong>Urgent Care Physician (MD/DO)</strong></h3><h3><strong>Position Summary</strong></h3><p>The Urgent Care Physician provides timely, high-quality medical care for patients presenting with acute illnesses and minor injuries in an urgent care setting. This role focuses on rapid evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of non-life-threatening conditions, emphasizing patient-centered care, efficiency, and appropriate care coordination.</p><p/><h3><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li> Evaluate and treat patients with acute medical conditions and minor injuries </li><li> Manage common urgent care presentations such as respiratory infections, gastrointestinal illnesses, musculoskeletal injuries, lacerations, burns, and minor trauma </li><li> Perform procedures consistent with training and privileges, including suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, and wound care </li><li> Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory studies, X-rays, and point-of-care testing </li><li> Prescribe medications and provide treatment plans appropriate to urgent care settings </li><li> Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care </li><li> Identify patients requiring higher levels of care and coordinate transfers to emergency departments or specialty services </li><li> Document patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner </li><li> Collaborate with nursing staff, advanced practice providers, and support staff </li><li> Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and patient satisfaction initiatives </li><li> Comply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standards </li></ul><p/><h3><strong>Qualifications</strong></h3><ul><li> Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school </li><li> Completion of an accredited residency program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine </li><li> Board-eligible or board-certified in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Internal Medicine </li><li> Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensure </li><li> DEA registration or eligibility </li></ul><p/><h3><strong>Skills and Competencies</strong></h3><ul><li> Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills </li><li> Ability to manage a wide range of acute conditions efficiently </li><li> Proficiency in office-based and minor surgical procedures </li><li> Excellent communication and patient education abilities </li><li> Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-volume environments </li><li> Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care </li></ul><p/><h3><strong>Work Environment</strong></h3><ul><li> Urgent care centers with extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays </li><li> Shift-based scheduling </li></ul><p/><h3><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li> Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the clinical environment </li><li> Manual dexterity for procedures and examinations </li><li> Visual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and communication </li></ul>
