Serving as the primary mentor for the SHA orientation program and providing additional support to SHAs as needed; Researching, proposing, and providing training to the SHAs under the supervision of a PHN/PHN Nursing Supervisor; Serving as technology SuperUser and trainer by providing guidance on the use of Synergy, WebVision, VIIS, Excel, Inventory Access program, and other SHA technology programs; Working with PHN Coordinator and Lead Supervisor to provide technology and other support for in-school immunizations; Working with School Health Inventory technician to identify supply ordering issues/needs; Referring students to medical providers and following-up on immunizations, physicals, eye doctors, audiologists, etc; Maintaining confidential medical records, including both paper-based and electronic records; Communicating with parents, the public health nurse, and school staff on matters affecting the health of students; Attending all-staff presentations, team meetings and other duties as assigned. Specific duties include: Providing health care for clients to include administering first aid to sick and injured children, administering medications as authorized, testing students' hearing and vision, and responding to medical emergencies at the school in a manner that demonstrates Arlington County principles of government; Contributing to the overall objectives of the Bureau and overall organizational mission, goals and objectives.
