<img align="right" height="147" width="624"/>Job Title: Special Events Coordinator Organization: Aberdeen Catholic School System – Roncalli Reports To: Director of DevelopmentEmployment Term: 12 monthsPosition Overview The Aberdeen Catholic School System is seeking a motivated and organized Special Events Coordinator to plan, manage, and execute events that support the mission and advancement of Aberdeen Roncalli. This position plays a key role in strengthening community engagement and generating financial support through well-organized events, fundraising initiatives, and sponsorship opportunities. The Special Events Coordinator works closely with the Director of Development, school leadership, volunteers, and community partners to ensure events are successful, mission-aligned, and professionally executed.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESEvent Planning and Management<ul style="list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px"><li>Coordinate the planning, promotion, and execution of major fundraising and community events for the Aberdeen Catholic School System.</li><li>Lead the organization and implementation of the Roncalli Ball, including logistics, sponsorship coordination, silent auctions, and volunteer management.</li><li>Organize and manage the Aberdeen Roncalli Hall of Fame program and related recognition events.</li><li>Coordinate the Roncalli Golf Tournament, including sponsorship outreach, player registration, and event logistics.</li><li>Assist with planning and executing additional special events that support the school system’s mission and development efforts.</li></ul>Fundraising and Revenue Generation<ul style="list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px"><li>Coordinate school-based fundraising initiatives such as raffles, sales, and special campaigns.</li><li>Develop and manage sponsorship and advertising opportunities connected to events and programs.</li><li>Sell advertising and sponsorship placements related to school publications, events, and promotional materials.</li><li>Work with the Development Director to identify new fundraising opportunities through events and community partnerships.</li></ul>Coordination and Communication<ul style="list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px"><li>Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events and fundraising initiatives.</li><li>Work with faculty, staff, parents, alumni, and community partners to support event success.</li><li>Assist with promotion of events through collaboration with marketing and communications efforts.</li><li>Maintain event calendars, timelines, and organizational systems to ensure effective planning and execution.</li><li>Serve in an advisory role for both the PTO and Booster organizations. </li></ul>Administrative Support<ul style="list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px"><li>Track event budgets, sponsorship commitments, and revenue from fundraising initiatives.</li><li>Maintain records related to sponsorships, advertising sales, and event participation.</li><li>Assist the Development Director with additional advancement initiatives as needed.</li></ul>Qualifications<ul style="list-style-type:disc;padding-left:48px"><li>Strong organizational and project management skills.</li><li>Ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li><li>Experience with event planning, fundraising, sales, or marketing preferred.</li><li>Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and community partners.</li><li>Alignment with and support for the mission and values of Catholic education.</li></ul>Schedule This position may require occasional evening or weekend hours to support special events and fundraising activities.Mission Alignment Employees of the Aberdeen Catholic School System are expected to support and uphold the mission of Catholic education and contribute positively to the faith-centered environment of the school community.Application Process Interested candidates should submit a resume and letter of interest to the Development Director, Rick Kline, at rick.kline@aberdeenroncalli.org, 2201 6th Ave. SE #17B, Aberdeen, SD, 57401. #hc228846

primary purpose of this job position is to assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan, and as may be directed by your supervisor.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Perform assigned day-to-day Activity Department functions.</li><li>Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments and established procedures.</li><li>Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of this facility.</li><li>Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that facility activities and resident progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting resident behavior.</li><li>Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family.</li><li>Participate in development and implementation of activity care plans and resident assessments.</li><li>Assist in arranging transportation to events when necessary.</li><li>Refer resident/families to appropriate social service personnel in the facility when needed.</li><li>Coordinate activities with other departments as necessary.</li><li>Keep abreast of situations and recommend to the Activity Director adjustments in activity programs that assure the continued ability to provide daily activities.</li><li>Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining an ongoing quality assurance program for the activity department.</li><li>Ensure that all charted activity progress notes are informative and descriptive of the services provided and indicate the resident’s response to the service.</li><li>Arrange transportation for field trips when necessary.</li><li>Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting such to the Activity Director as required.</li><li>Others as deemed necessary and appropriate, or as may be directed by the Activity Director.</li><li>Assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of services as directed.</li><li>Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments within the facility to assure that daily activities can be performed without interruption.</li><li>Assist in developing volunteer activity assignments.</li><li>Participate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned, or that may become necessary.</li><li>Preparing activity rooms/areas for scheduled activity programs.</li><li>Clean up activity areas after completing activity functions.</li><li>Recommend to your supervisor the equipment and supply needs of the activity department.</li><li>Use activity supplies in an efficient manner to avoid waste.</li><li>Assist in developing a written plan of care (preliminary and comprehensive) for each resident’s activity program that identifies the problems/needs of the resident and the goals to be accomplished for each problem/need identified.</li><li>Follow the care plan in providing daily activities for the resident.</li><li>Assist in the development of the department’s fund raising projects.</li><li>Review complaints and grievances made by the resident and make a written/oral report to the Activity</li><li>Director indicating what action(s) were taken to resolve the complaint or grievance.</li><li>Implement activity procedures as directed by the Activity resident self-esteem by visiting and conversing with residents on a regular basis.</li><li>Make routine visits to residents and perform assistance with crafts, projects, etc., as necessary.</li><li>Assist bed residents by visiting with them, writing letters, etc., as necessary.</li><li>Encourage residents to develop their educational development through reading, etc.</li><li>Conduct individual, and/or group, reality orientation sessions to promote the worth, self-esteem and reality level of the residents.</li><li>Oversee the residents engaged in scheduled activities to promote the physical, social, and mental wellbeing of residents by applying experience in activities and knowledge of diagnoses and conditions of residents.</li><li>Push residents to and from the dining room at meal times.</li><li>Assist in the moving/arranging of equipment/supplies to assure that activity areas are ready for scheduled activity functions.</li></ul>PAY AND BENEFITS:
