We are centered on caring for the whole person – with expert medical care, pain management as well as emotional and spiritual support along with resources, information, and emotional support for families and caregivers.<h3>About the role:</h3>The volunteer provides patient care and support services according to his/her experience and training and in compliance with organization policies. <h3>Job Responsibilities: </h3><ol><li>Serves as an integral member of the interdisciplinary group amid various settings: home care; respite; inpatient, bereavement, and/or administrative; office duties.</li><li>Participates in general orientation.</li><li>Serves the patient and family/caregiver under the guidance of the Volunteer Coordinator and Case Manager or as a part of the administrative team.</li><li>Serves as substitute family/caregiver in the home performing activities that the volunteer has been prepared for and has agreed to perform.  The volunteer may do homemaker chores, run errands, and provide respite care as well.</li><li>Documents as educated and instructed maintaining confidentiality.</li><li>Meets all health requirements set by Luminary Hospice.</li><li>Provides availability regularly and/or keeping with the patient and family/caregiver needs.</li><li>Participates in volunteer support groups and/or educational in-services.</li><li>Maintains open communication and reports regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator.</li><li>Assignment of other duties (as needed) directed by the Volunteer Coordinator.</li><li>Participates in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities.</li><li>Participates in interdisciplinary group meetings, as appropriate.  </li></ol><h3>Job Qualifications: </h3><ol><li>Mature individual, supportive of the hospice concept, comfortable with his/her spirituality, and willing to serve others in a volunteer capacity.</li><li>Surviving family members: must meet ayear's waiting period after the patient's death to participate in direct patient care or public relations activities.</li><li>Successful completion of the hospice's volunteer training and orientation program.</li><li>Previous volunteer experience may be helpful.</li><li>Ability to work within an interdisciplinary group.</li><li>If making home visits, must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order. </li></ol><h3> Physical Demands:</h3>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Essential Functions:<ul><li>  <a class="external" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">Responsible for </a>hiring, training, supervising, evaluating and ongoing administrative management of Site Managers and Camp and Volunteer Coordinator to ensure quality services to individuals. </li></ul><ul><li>   Oversees overall site staffing with the site managers. Assists Site Managers as needed to hire DSPs.</li></ul><ul><li>Provides oversight in site administrative, regulatory and environmental compliance.</li></ul><ul><li>  Serves as back up and assistance for site managers and Director of Residential Services as needed.</li></ul><ul><li>Works with SSAs and housing authorities to manage and facilitate lease management for waiver sites. </li><li> Responsible for Camp/Volunteer coordinator in overall camp paradise compliance and utilization. </li><li>Serves on both internal and external committees. </li></ul><ul><li><a class="external" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener">Represents The Society with a professional attitude and positive intention while promoting effective internal and external relationships, communication and advocacy.
