The Intern will assist in configuring system features to improve communication, streamline workflows, and reduce manual processes. Responsibilities include uploading and managing orientation materials within VSys, setting up text messaging and automated email communications, and developing standardized templates to ensure consistent documentation of volunteer interactions. The Intern will also support automation of scheduling notifications and help create a procedural guide for staff use. As time permits, the Intern will explore additional system features to further enhance efficiency.Primary Responsibilities <ul><li>Assist with configuration and optimization of the VSys volunteer data management system</li><li>Upload orientation and re-orientation materials into VSys for automated distribution, tracking, and completion</li><li>Set up and support text messaging capabilities for volunteer communications, including urgent notifications for NODA volunteers</li><li>Configure automated email responses for appointment reminders and training sessions</li><li>Develop and implement standardized communication templates within VSys to ensure consistent documentation in volunteer records</li><li>Support automation of schedule notifications to replace manual email and scanning processes</li><li>Create a procedural guide for staff on maintaining and utilizing system features</li><li>Explore additional VSys functionalities to improve efficiency and streamline volunteer services operations</li></ul>Program Eligibility <ul><li>Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program</li><li>Preference given to Junior and Senior-level students</li><li>Must be available to participate in at least 8 weeks of the 10-week program</li><li>Interns will be matched with projects based on their academic field of study</li></ul>Work Schedule <ul><li>Up to 30 hours per week</li><li>Internship duration: 8-10 consecutive weeks</li><li>Schedule: Monday - Friday, based on organizational needs</li></ul>Application RequirementsTo be considered, applicants must complete all of the following: <ul><li>Submit a cover letter (1 page) that includes: <ul><li>A brief introduction of yourself</li><li>Your interest in working at Salinas Valley Health</li><li>Your preferred department and why it interests you</li></ul></li><li>Upload Resume</li><li>Complete the online Application <ul><li>Incomplete applications will not be considered</li></ul></li></ul>Location: Salinas, CAPay Range: The hourly rate for this position is $22.00. Your support can make a big impact!</li></ul></li><li>Become a Patient Care Volunteer!<ul><li> Visit patients to offer companionship and give caregivers a break. Activities include reading, hobbies, playing games, and listening. Make a difference in someone's day!</li></ul></li><li>Bring happiness as a Pet Therapy Volunteer! <ul><li>Share the love of your Certified Therapy Pet with patients.  No hospice experience is needed, just a certified and vaccinated pet. Your visits can bring immense joy and emotional support.</li></ul></li><li>Share Your Talent as a Musician Volunteer! <ul><li>Use your musical gifts to brighten patients' days and provide comfort to our healthcare staff. Your music can be a source of peace and joy.</li></ul></li><li>Serve as a Veteran Volunteer! <ul><li>Connect with fellow veterans, provide companionship, and participate in meaningful ceremonies. Your unique insights can help support and honor our veteran patients.</li></ul></li></ul>
