Responsibilities:
<div dir="ltr" id="x_x_divRplyFwdMsg"><div>Spiritual Care Extenders are Un-Paid Volunteers for the Spiritual Care Department who provide a valuable service to the patients, visitors, and staff while enjoying a unique opportunity for growth and experience in providing emotional and spiritual support to others. Extenders are similar to our volunteers who serve throughout the hospital in patient and non-patient care areas but are trained specifically through the Spiritual Care Department to provide support to those of all faiths. </div></div>Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.

The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for Protestant Religious Education Coordinator (PREC) at Maxwell AFB, AL (Fiscal Year 2026):<ol><li>Purpose: The PREC will execute the Protestant Worship Community's (PWC) religious education vision under the guidance of the Lead Protestant Chaplain (LPC) and Chaplain Corps Leadership Team (CLT). 
 </li><li>Responsibilities: The PREC will plan, coordinate, and execute Protestant religious education programs for all age groups (1 year to adult). Duties include teaching, organizing events, recruiting/training volunteers, managing curriculum, overseeing childcare volunteers, and ensuring compliance with Air Force policies and standards. 
 </li><li>Work Hours: Minimum 20 hours per week (80 hours/month), including Sundays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Additional hours may be required during peak seasons (e.g., Easter, Christmas, Vacation Bible School). Office hours and schedules must be approved by the LPC. 
 </li><li>General Duties:<ul><li>Undergo background checks and installation records checks. 
 </li><li>Adhere to the LPC’s religious organization requirements. 
 </li><li>Supervise volunteers, maintain identification badges, and report volunteer hours. 
 </li><li>Plan and execute annual calendars, events, and programs. 
 </li><li>Submit facility requests, update staff meeting slides, and attend PAC meetings. 
 </li><li>Recommend curriculum and resources for RE programs. 
 </li><li>Coordinate Vacation Bible School and special events.

 </li><li>Maintain electronic records of curriculum and submit after-action reports for events. 
 </li><li>Ensure proper use of Chapel Tithes and Offerings Fund (CTOF) and submit fund requests.

 </li><li>Obtain base identification and vehicle passes for personnel. 
 </li><li>Ensure compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) protocols.

 </li><li>Adhere to policies on cellular phone use, firearms, and illegal weapons.
