While performing hearing screens, the Newborn Hearing Screener will follow IHSS and hospital policies and procedures, including, but not limited to infection prevention and control, safety awareness, and quality assurance. When possible, perform hearing screens on infants in the best possible testing conditions (while infant is sleeping, testing environment is quiet, lights are dimmed).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:The Newborn Hearing Screener will conduct hearing screens on all applicable patients at the hospital he or she is assigned to. While performing hearing screens, the Newborn Hearing Screener will follow IHSS and hospital policies and procedures, including, but not limited to infection prevention and control, safety awareness, and quality assurance. Contribute to a positive work environment and overall team effort, and sign a non-compete/confidentiality agreement.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Ensure every baby is screened according to the state requirements under the California, NHSP, and IHSS corporate guidelines.</li><li>Maintain a clean and orderly work area.</li><li>Follow strict guidelines for patient identification and result labeling.</li><li>Maintain both hospital and IHSS corporate records and logs as required.</li><li>Maintain newborn hearing screening equipment in accordance with IHSS corporate guidelines. Any damage or equipment malfunctions must be reported immediately to the Biomedical Engineering department.</li><li>Record results appropriately in patients’ charts.</li><li>Inventory supplies and report supply needs to assigned Area Manager.</li><li>Begin assigned shift as scheduled.</li><li>Perform related responsibilities as required or directed.</li><li>When possible, perform hearing screens on infants in the best possible testing conditions (while infant is sleeping, testing environment is quiet, lights are dimmed).</li><li>Report all hospital concerns immediately (within twelve hours) to IHSS personnel.</li><li>Attend all meetings that pertain to the Newborn Hearing Screening Program when directed by corporate office.</li><li>Ensure strict compliance with the Health Insurance Portability Accountability Act (HIPAA).</li><li>Maintain excellent customer service throughout the program.</li></ul>KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION:Minimum skill and proficiency in both oral and written communication and basic mathematical calculations as acquired through the completion of high school or its equivalent.SPECIAL SKILLS:Work requires operation or use of infant hearing screening machine, general office equipment, and computer technology.INTERPERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to communicate effectively with medical staff, including but not limited to, nurses and other staff within the hospital for the purpose of coordinating activities and explaining basic test procedures.CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Completion of the National Center for Hearing Assessment and Management (NCHAM) Newborn Hearing Screening Training Curriculum (Not required for initial hiring)Basic Life Support CPR American Heart Association Course Completion Cards.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to stand, walk, and push the screening equipment. Perform light physical lifting (up to 25 pounds) on an intermittent basis.ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:Work is performed in a standard hospital environment with exposure to human waste, blood, and other body secretions. Overview:
Barnes & Noble College is seeking a resourceful, driven, adaptable, and customer-focused team member to work varying or set schedules on a weekly basis year round as a part-time Supervisor. The Supervisor will provide assistance to the management team, have oversight for team members within a specific department, satellite location, or store in the absence of upper management while providing outstanding customer service to the academic and co-curricular community. 

Responsibilities:
A Supervisor should support the management team, be a resource for all departments, a model for customer service, a driver for sales, and a skillful problem solver.  As a Supervisor you will spend the majority of your time on the sales floor coaching and modeling Wow customer service.  You will help train and oversee the daily work activity of team members in one or more departments in the store or for specified operational functions.  You must be knowledgeable about department and store operations; provide outstanding customer service to the academic and co-curricular community; help enforce loss prevention procedures; and ensure that your area of responsibility is maintained, properly merchandised and the store is operationally sound. Expectations:<ul><li>Spend the majority of your time on the selling floor delivering, coaching, and modeling exceptional customer service.</li><li>Maintain a working knowledge of all departments in the store to provide daily support, direction, and guidance to customers and team members.</li><li>Help resolve customer issues and complaints and escalating problems to the management team when necessary.</li><li>Assist in the daily operation of the store in partnership with the management team and act as the Manager-on</li><li>Duty in the absence of the manager or at satellite locations.</li><li>Assist with assigning work and providing focused direction to team members to manage and accomplish multiple projects to ensure the proper execution of the workload.</li><li>Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments as needed.</li><li>Part-time positions require availability to work on a weekly basis year round.  Schedules may be set or vary to meet the needs of the store.</li><li>Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal. </li></ul>Physical Demands:<ul><li>Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.</li><li>Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.</li><li>Frequent lifting.</li><li>Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.</li></ul>California Pay Transparency Information (Only applicable in California stores): Pay:  Part-time Supervisor pay range $19.00/hour.  Benefits available include:<ul><li>Get paid sooner! Qualifications:
<ul><li>2+ years’ experience in a retail setting preferred.</li><li>High school diploma/GED preferred.</li><li>Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs.</li><li>Basic reading, writing and accounting skills required.</li><li>Excellent customer service and communication skills needed.</li><li>Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.</li><li>Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li></ul>
