Under the direction of the Buildings and Grounds Manager, the Facilities HVAC/R Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, and other equipment throughout the Inns of Aurora properties.

$35-45/hr depending on experiencePosition Purpose:The Inns of Aurora Resort and Spa is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician who will work throughout our world-class resort.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for their work, and a commitment to keeping equipment running to support our team in ensuring the best possible experience for our guests. Under the direction of the Buildings and Grounds Manager, the Facilities HVAC/R Technician is responsible for the care and maintenance of HVAC, refrigeration, and other equipment throughout the Inns of Aurora properties.Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:<ul><li>Maintain HVAC, refrigeration, and other building systems and conduct repairs when necessary.  Equipment includes boilers, water tower, air handlers, VAV units, fan coil units, air cooled chillers, geothermal systems, water-water heat pumps, water-air heat pumps, water/glycol circulation pumps, kitchen refrigeration equipment. </li><li>Develop and plan preventative maintenance procedures in the eWorkOrders system</li><li>Evaluate and execute work assignments through proper use of tools, and equipment </li><li>Verify that equipment is in safe and proper operating condition</li><li>Work directly with suppliers and contractors to support procurement of materials and services necessary to support operations and maintenance activities</li><li>Perform or assist additional maintenance tasks as required (plumbing, construction, painting, grounds)</li><li>Perform other duties, as assigned</li></ul> RequirementsRequirements:<ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent certification</li><li>Advanced understanding of HVAC/R systems and equipment, including ability to quickly and accurately troubleshoot and repair these systems.</li><li>Thorough knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods</li><li>Ability to read and interpret building electrical and mechanical drawings</li><li>Ability to work independently or in a team setting with internal staff as well as outside vendors</li></ul><ul><li>Working knowledge of safe work practices, methods and procedures, including LOTO, Confined Space, Hot Work, Fall Protection</li></ul><ul><li>Ability to communicate effectively with others, verbally and written</li><li>A friendly and professional work ethic and demeanor</li><li>Basic computer skills, including Windows and Microsoft Office</li><li>Must be able to work evenings, weekends, & be on-call as work dictates</li><li>Must be able to work from an elevated position using ladders and/or electric lifts</li><li>Must be able to lift & carry 50lbs</li></ul> PREFERENCES<ul><li>Five plus years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC/R equipment</li><li>2-year HVAC Trade School, or Associates degree in Technical discipline preferred</li><li>Experience operating and programming a Building Management System, preferably Automated Logic – WebCTRL</li><li>Willingness to work a shift other than Monday-Friday</li></ul> SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>Valid driver’s license and proven record of observing legal and defensive driving practices, as verified by the NYS Lens Program</li><li>Current EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification</li></ul>BenefitsWe are proud to offer outstanding benefits to all of our employees.Full-time employees, those working 30 hours per week or more on average, are offered competitive medical and dental benefits, as well as generous paid time off packages.Full-time and part-time employees are eligible to participate in our 401K program and supplementary benefits.We are particularly proud to offer all of our employees a highly competitive employee discount at all of our lodging and dining properties.
