Responsibilities:
Quality of Environment:<ul><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Assists in moving furniture and patient beds as requested. </li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Replenishes supplies including soap, towels, toilet tissue, and other disposable items.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Able to operate and train others to operate cleaning equipment, such as, but not limited to, vacuum sweeper, auto scrubber, battery operated vacuum, and carpet extractor.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Cleans vents, lights, walls, windows, mirrors, doors, including knobs, jambs and any hardware, fire extinguishers and telephones.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Maintains carpets and hard surface flooring including scraping and refinishing.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Collects all trash, bio-waste, recycling, chemo-waste, transports and dispossess in correct receptacle. </li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Empties, clean, and relines trash receptacles.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Sanitizes and spot cleans all horizontal surfaces, windows, and polished fixtures.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Ensures patient/customer satisfaction with completed work.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Follows assigned area work schedule flow, adjusting as needed to the daily operations of the hospital.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Performs specialized or project cleaning as scheduled, and varying with assigned area.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Stocking and replenishing of linens and scrub orders to par levels</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Must be responsible for job knowledge and abilities including understanding and applying policies and procedures, information received during orientation, on the job training and requests of leadership.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Responsible for job quality and quantity including adherence to policies and procedures, accuracy, appearance of area and work completed.</li><li style="margin:0in 0in 0in 0.25in">Direct and assist staff in assigning areas or project work in the absence of a leader</li></ul>Departmental Work:<ul><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Provides customer service to patients by responding to any questions or requests.</li><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Flexes workload to optimize efficiency.</li><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Works as part of a team and assists when needed.</li><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Other duties as assigned.</li></ul>Basic UPH Performance Criteria         <ul><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Demonstrates the UnityPoint Health Values and Standards of Behaviors as well as adheres to policies and procedures and safety guidelines.</li><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Demonstrates ability to meet business needs of department with regular, reliable attendance.</li><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Employee maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.</li><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.</li><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.</li><li style="margin-left:0.25in">Is knowledgeable of hospital and department compliance requirements for federally funded healthcare programs (e.g., Medicare and Medicaid) regarding fraud, waste, and abuse.
