Works with unit charge nurses in order to identify and resolve transportation issues that may arise, coordinates or improves services offered to assist in planning new services. Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation, and fosters the effective integration of efforts with system-wide initiatives.

Department Overview:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the management of the Hospital Transportation Department andEquipment Pool Services. Position is responsible hiring, training, and performance management ofTransportation, Equipment Pool Technicians and SPM staff. Position is responsible for establishing qualityand productivity metrics and for measuring, monitoring, and reporting outcomes. Responsible for operationaloversight of electronic VIP transportation dispatch system, including application upgrades, training, andimplementation.

Function/Duties of Position:
<ul><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">Oversees and coordinates daily activity including the delegation of special assignments to staff as needed. Develops staff schedules. Oversees electronic VIP transportation dispatch system, including application upgrades, training, and implementation. </li><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">Evaluates personnel and multi-shift job performance of staff. Coordinates assignments of staffing needs and make adjustments as needed. Assist the manager with mandatory training in body mechanics and proper lifting techniques, along with departmental annual core competencies. Maintaining monthly scheduling and overseeing time off requests for a 24/7 operation. Maintains records for all departmental mandatory education requirements and employee health immunizations. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as DNV, OHSU, and mandatory departmental competencies. Assist the manager in developing and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.</li><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">Manages the performance appraisal process for all transport staff. Provides orientation to staff. Evaluates and manages performance of staff in accordance with the bargaining unit agreements and personnel rules. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. Participates in interviews and hiring process.</li><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">Supports and coordinates with unit HUCS, and ancillary departments to resolve transportation scheduling conflicts. Works with unit charge nurses in order to identify and resolve transportation issues that may arise, coordinates or improves services offered to assist in planning new services. Coordinates the assignments of tasks and helps resolve operation problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure department goals are achieved.Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation, and fosters the effective integration of efforts with system-wide initiatives.</li><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">Other Duties as Assigned</li></ul>

Required Qualifications:
<ul><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">High school diploma/GED </li><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">5 years of work experience in a hospital or medical environment, or equivalent; plus 2 years lead or supervisory experience. </li><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. </li><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">Demonstrated written and verbal proficiency with English language. </li></ul>

Preferred Qualifications:
<ul><li style="font-size:10pt;font-family:'verdana' , 'geneva'">Bachelor’s Degree </li><li>Previous experience in management or leadership position with responsibility for managing staff, including performance management.</li></ul>

Additional Details:
Monday – Friday; occasional weekends and holidays, as required; Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day while transporting patients and materials throughoutOHSU campus. Ability to carry and lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to use departmental equipment such asstretchers, wheelchairs, medical oxygen, vertical lifts/ceiling lifts, and hover mats. Ability to sit in anoffice setting for up to 4 hours at a time.
