Our welds get x-rayed, our vessels get stamped, and our customers come back. Recent growth has us adding 4 to 6 skilled welder/fitters to our shop floor.  Position Highlights:<ul><li>Relocation Assistance: Available for moves of 250+ miles</li><li>High-Demand Overtime: 1.5x time-and-a-half opportunities</li><li>Quality-Driven: True code work with stable, long-term backlogs</li></ul> Pay Breakdown:<ul><li>Hourly Range: $22.00 – $35.00 / hour (Based on experience and weld test performance)</li><li>Overtime Pay: 1.5x base rate paid after 40 hours weekly (Consistent OT opportunities available)</li><li>Experienced Tank Builders & Welders: $28.00 – $35.00 / hour</li><li>Development-Level Welders: $22.00 – $27.00 / hour</li></ul> What You’ll Be Welding:<ul><li> ASME Section VIII pressure vessels, API 650 storage tanks, modular skids, and related components</li><li>Materials: Primarily carbon steel and stainless steel. Alloy work (duplex, Monel, Inconel, Alloy 20) is assigned based on demonstrated experience.</li><li>Multiple Processes: MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW), Sub-Arc (SAW), and Flux Core (FCAW). TIG proficiency is critical for our pressure vessel work.</li><li>Out-of-position work (overhead, vertical, 3G, 4G, 6G)</li></ul> What You’ll Do:<ul><li>Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and welding symbols.</li><li>Perform precision layout, bevel prep, fit-up, and tacking to exact specifications before executing the final weld-out, taking full ownership of the joint.</li><li>Operate fabrication tools including grinders, oxy-acetylene torches, plasma cutters, and precision layout instruments (calipers, micrometers, angle finders, squares).</li><li>Strictly adhere to the Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and maintain inspection-ready quality on every weld.</li></ul> What We’re Looking For (Required):<ul><li>5+ years of welding and fabrication experience</li><li>Solid FluxCore/MIG and TIG skills in carbon and stainless steel</li><li>Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and weld symbols</li><li>Strong fit-up skills (layout, bevel prep, tacking)</li><li>Solid math fundamentals (fractions, decimals, angles)</li><li>Ability to handle physical work, including lifting up to 50 lbs</li><li>Ability to pass our hands-on weld test (tested strictly on our WPS)</li><li>Passing a pre-employment drug test</li></ul> Strong Plus:<ul><li>AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, or API 1104 certifications</li><li>Prior pressure vessel or code-stamped tank manufacturing work</li><li>Advanced TIG and Flux Core experience</li><li>Alloy welding experience (duplex, Monel, Inconel, Alloy 20)</li><li>OSHA safety training</li></ul> Benefits:<ul><li>Strong overtime opportunities (Current shop demand is high)</li><li> Health insurance</li><li>401(k) with company match</li><li>Paid vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay</li><li>Relocation assistance available for moves of 250+ miles</li></ul> How to Apply:<ul><li>In Person: Visit our shop Monday–Thursday (8:00 AM to 3:30 PM) or Friday (8:00 AM to 12:00 PM) at 1517 Telfair Road, Garden City, GA.</li><li>Online: Submit your application directly through this job posting.</li></ul> We will contact qualified candidates to schedule an on-site weld test.  Savannah Tank & Equipment Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer.  Powered by JazzHR
