Essential Functions:
Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on drawing requirements
Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g., cut material to match measurements, size material to proper diameter, etc.)
Operate appropriate tools to prepare parts that must be welded
Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces or fixtures
Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead)
Repair assemblies and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws
Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Participate in 6S activities daily
Participate in TFOS initiatives
Requirements:
Professional Certification (e.g., an AWS welding certificate) is preferred
Proficiency in MIG welding is required; both MIG and TIG preferred.
Experience in using electrical, pneumatic, or manual tools (swagers, squares, calipers etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Ability to accurately enter production data into Epicor
Willingness and ability to learn and implement Operational Excellence and TFOS principles
Willingness and ability to perform in other areas of production as needed
Proficient in English
