As a Wildlife Monitor, you will play a critical role in ensuring project activities align with environmental commitments, regulatory requirements, and best practices for wildlife stewardship. This is a remote rotational position supporting pipeline construction operations in Alaska. The role requires flexibility, sound judgement, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in remote and environmentally sensitive locations. Purpose of the rolePlay an integral role in supporting safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible construction activities across a large-scale pipeline project. You will be responsible for monitoring wildlife interactions, advising project teams on mitigation measures, supporting compliance with environmental permits and commitments, and helping to minimize impacts to wildlife and sensitive habitats during all phases of construction activity. The Wildlife Monitor will support pipeline by implementing wildlife protection and mitigation measures required under the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS), U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Biological Opinions, and applicable federal and state permits. The position is a fieldbased role responsible for conducting wildlife sweeps and clearance surveys ahead of construction activities, monitoring active work areas for wildlife interactions, and supporting regulatory compliance through accurate documentation, communication, and coordination with construction, environmental, and regulatory teams. This role is critical to ensuring that construction activities proceed in compliance with Endangered Species Act (ESA) requirements, project commitments, and agency concurrence, while minimizing risk of wildlife take, work stoppages, or regulatory noncompliance. Core ResponsibilitiesWildlife Clearance & Monitoring<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Conduct preconstruction wildlife sweeps and clearance surveys for work areas, including but not limited to access roads, pipe laydown areas, work pads, camps, material sites, and utilities. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Verify that construction areas are clear of wildlife and nests, dens, or other sensitive features prior to vegetation clearing or ground disturbance, in accordance with projectapproved protocols and timing restrictions. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Monitor active construction areas for potential interactions with wildlife species of concern and report observations in real time to construction and environmental leads. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Implement stopwork authority when required to avoid or minimize incidental take or noncompliance with mitigation measures. </li></ul>Implementation of Mitigation Measures<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Apply all wildliferelated avoidance, minimization, and mitigation measures established in the Final EIS, USFWS and NMFS Biological Opinions, and projectspecific environmental plans and procedures. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Support seasonal restrictions, buffers, exclusion zones, and other construction constraints related to wildlife presence. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Assist with wildlife relocation, hazing, or exclusion activities when authorized and conducted under approved protocols. </li></ul>Regulatory & Technical Support<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Provide technical input and field observations to the project's regulatory and compliance teams to support coordination and discussions with regulatory agencies. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Prepare clear, accurate field documentation summarizing wildlife observations, construction interactions, mitigation implementation, and compliance status. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Support agency site visits, inspections, and audits by explaining monitoring activities and mitigation measures in the field. </li></ul>Coordination & Communication<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Coordinate closely with construction supervisors, environmental inspectors, and other field specialists to ensure wildlife requirements are integrated into daily work planning. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Communicate environmental constraints and wildliferelated work conditions clearly to construction crews to support safe and compliant execution. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Escalate wildliferelated issues, risks, or noncompliance concerns promptly through established reporting channels. </li></ul>#LI-JS4 What you'll bring to the roleWhat you'll bring to the role includes a strong combination of environmental field expertise, technical knowledge, sound decision-making ability, and the confidence to work independently in remote project environments. Key qualifications and experience include: Required<ul><li class="MsoNormal">3-7 years of progressive field experience conducting wildlife monitoring, wildlife clearance surveys, and constructionphase environmental compliance on linear infrastructure projects (e.g., natural gas pipelines, transmission lines, roads, or similar largescale construction projects). </li><li class="MsoNormal">Bachelor's degree in wildlife biology, ecology, natural resources, environmental science, or a related field. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Direct field experience conducting wildlife monitoring or clearance surveys on linear infrastructure, energy, or large construction projects. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Familiarity with Endangered Species Act compliance and the implementation of Biological Opinion terms and conditions. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience working in remote or Arctic/subArctic environments, including rugged terrain and variable weather conditions. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Ability to work extended rotations in remote field camps and travel frequently to active construction spreads. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Strong observational, documentation, and communication skills. </li></ul>Preferred<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Alaskaspecific wildlife monitoring experience, including familiarity with species of concern relevant to the project area. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Previous experience supporting FERCregulated pipeline or major infrastructure projects. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Experience coordinating with USFWS, NMFS, or state wildlife agencies during construction. </li><li class="MsoNormal">First Aid/CPR and field safety training applicable to remote operations. </li></ul>Physical & Field Requirements<ul><li class="MsoNormal">Ability to work outdoors in remote locations for extended periods under challenging weather and environmental conditions. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Ability to hike across uneven terrain, access construction corridors, and observe activities across active work fronts. </li><li class="MsoNormal">Capability to work long days aligned with construction schedules. </li></ul>Feel the energy at Worley with access to a range of benefits including eligibility to participate in the medical, life, dental, and vision insurance plans, as well as 401K plan.
