The individual must be able to independently review structural drawings and specifications, perform reinforcing-steel takeoffs, develop labor and material pricing, understand detailing requirements, identify constructability issues, and provide management with a reliable estimate of the cost and risk associated with a project. The ideal candidate has substantial hands-on experience in the reinforcing-steel industry, preferably with a rebar fabricator, reinforcing contractor, placer, or major concrete contractor.
