Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Expert level knowledge of health care service administration; Continuous quality improvement; Monitoring and managing incoming actions and requests from initial receipt to completion and closeout; Works closely with senior management and others in implementing and evaluating policies, plans, and internal operational systems such as correspondence management, information tracking among pertinent offices and stakeholders, and internal/external communication flows; Conduct analytical studies on operational processes, issue topics, or related special projects; Develops position papers and decision documents representing the position of the organization on a variety of complex and sensitive issues; Provides comprehensive staff support in the development of both long and short-range policies and plans for the organization by coordinating the medical administration needs of the organization to which accountable; Coordinating senior level activities, project management, managing workload and resources and planning group meetings, providing expert advice and guidance, preparing reports, briefing materials, white paper and other correspondence; Acts as a Liaison to persons and groups outside of the Medical Center. This position serves as a member of the Executive Leadership Team of the Wilmington VA Medical Center (WVAMC), the incumbent serves as the Executive Assistant to the Executive Medical Center Director in providing expert support to health care management officials by analyzing, evaluating, advising on and/or coordinating health care delivery systems and operations.
