Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field with licensure or licensure eligibility in the State of Michigan as a Social Worker (LLMSW/LMSW); Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP/ LLP); Professional Counselor (LLPC/LPC). This role delivers developmentally appropriate interventions, engages families and caregivers in the treatment process, and collaborates with schools, community partners, and internal teams to support continuity of care.

Job Summary/Objective:The Youth Clinician provides comprehensive assessment, treatment planning, and therapeutic services for children and adolescents experiencing mental health or behavioral challenges. This role delivers developmentally appropriate interventions, engages families and caregivers in the treatment process, and collaborates with schools, community partners, and internal teams to support continuity of care. The clinician ensures timely and accurate documentation, adheres to agency and regulatory requirements, and promotes positive functioning, emotional regulation, and improved family and social relationships for youth.Essential Duties and Functions:<ul><li>Utilizes evidence-based treatments within their scope of practice. </li><li>Acts as a liaison within the community to ensure continuum of care and support for customers. </li><li>May act as a clinical resource for agency teams and conduct educational presentations. </li><li>Treatment is provided within clinic settings.</li><li>Therapeutic supports are provided as outlined in the individualized plan of service based on person-centered planning and utilizing evidence-based practices. </li><li>Maintains record compliance within agency requirements and standard utilizing electronic/hard copy record formats. </li><li>Shall ensure compliance and participation with competency improvement activities including, but not limited to, credentialing, continuing education (per licensure requirements or minimum of 24 hours per year of clinically based trainings provided by agency), implementation of evidence-based practices, peer review attendance, and professional improvement practices. </li><li>Participates in corporate quality improvement and problem-solving activities. Maintains confidentiality and privacy within MDHHS, state and federal guidelines. </li><li>Utilizes knowledge of CARF, CMS, MDHHS and Managed Care standards. </li><li>Performs other duties as required.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field with licensure or licensure eligibility in the State of Michigan as a Social Worker (LLMSW/LMSW); Limited Licensed Psychologist (TLLP/ LLP); Professional Counselor (LLPC/LPC).</li><li>Behavioral health case management experience helpful but not required. </li><li>Two years of experience in a behavioral health car setting utilizing evidence-based practices and behavior modification techniques</li><li>Good organizational, verbal/written communication, computer, analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Self-directed and resourceful.</li><li>One year of computer experience – Word, Excel, and electronic medical record software preferred.</li></ul> Trauma Informed System of Care: A trauma-informed approach to service delivery emphasizes physical and emotional safety, choice, empowerment, and trustworthiness for customers.  The impact of trauma is broad and touches many life domains.  Participation is mandatory for activities required for Summit Pointe to become a “Trauma Informed System of Care.”PCN #159

Activities include processing resident intakes and discharges, supervising recreational activities, teaching proper hygiene and conduct, monitoring resident behavior, intervening in crisis situations and documenting incidents and resident interaction. Wage: $26.41 per hour to start, no benefits, variable schedule, as needed, up to 19.5 hours per week<ol><li style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-left:8px">Maintains facility security by monitoring residents’ activities, observing conduct, behavior and attitude, conducting regular room/bed checks. Investigating incidents and informing appropriate persons of incidents. </li><li style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-left:8px">Interacts with residents individually and in group setting to discuss personal problems, facility rules and regulations, and to teach proper conduct. </li><li style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-left:8px">Reacts to crisis situations, such as unruly behavior and fighting, intervening in an appropriate manner. Restrains residents when required for their safety. Evaluates suicidal or AWOL behavior and closely monitors residents exhibiting those tendencies. </li><li style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-left:8px">Dispenses medication to residents in accordance with the physician approved prescriptions, logs medication, dispenses and ensures medications are secured. Provides basic first aid as necessary. Assesses injuries and illnesses and determined need for medical care in accordance with program guidelines. </li><li style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-left:8px">Supervises residents to ensure compliance with facility rules. Addresses noncompliant behavior by coaching and teaching approved theory and therapy techniques. Support youth with emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. </li><li style="margin-bottom:10px;margin-left:8px">Processes resident intake. Documents all required resident personal information. Conducts personal searches of residents. Logs all resident personal items and stores any items not allowed in the detention center away from residents until they are no longer living at the detention center.
