Senior Accountant (Temporary-to-Hire)

A mission-driven non-profit organization in Downtown Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its growing finance team. This role will be responsible for general ledger accounting, month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and supporting the organization's day-to-day accounting operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities
• Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and grant-related accounts
• Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation
• Analyze variances and support budget-to-actual reporting
• Partner with Finance leadership on process improvements and special projects
• Support accounting system upgrades and conversions as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills
• Non-profit accounting experience is highly preferred
• Experience supporting accounting system conversions or ERP implementations is a plus

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
