Description
Senior Accountant - West Los Angeles, CA
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for properly recording and reporting the firm's financial transactions. The ideal candidate must be a detail-oriented and highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently under the pressure of deadlines and produce results.
Core Responsibilities
Preparation of recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including the month-end close process and daily banking transactions.
Preparation of the reconciliation of balance sheet accounts and analysis of P&L accounts.
Facilities and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) management, including monitoring leases, preparation of rent schedules, and business property tax statement filings (Form 571-L).
Cash and treasury management includes monitoring and executing electronic payments and cash flow forecasting.
Development and enhancement of policies and procedures and establishing and monitoring internal controls associated with core responsibilities and associated systems.
Upholding customer confidence and protecting operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field (minor in Accounting accepted).
CPA candidate and/or public accounting experience preferred.
Must successfully pass a background check.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States full-time.
Essential Functions
Preparation of month-end and ad-hoc financial reports and supporting schedules.
Review/analysis of leases for the preparation and/or review of rent schedules and ad‐hoc reporting.
Preparing financial data and related schedules for firms' tax accountants and other tax-related matters.
Addressing and/or monitoring help desk tickets related to ad‐hoc financial research and reporting.
Assist with implementing, enhancing, and/or upgrading the systems associated with core responsibilities.
Performance of ad-hoc analysis and special projects, as needed.
Experience
Minimum 2-years of experience in auditing/public accounting and/or operational accounting and/or financial reporting.
Demonstrated sound professional judgment and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Previous experience with partnership accounting is highly desirable.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP formula, etc.).
Knowledge of US GAAP.
Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organization skills.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
Excellent verbal and written communication and comprehension skills.
