2027 Summer Intern Process Sciences - Upstream Biomanufacturing Support (IOPS)

Regeneron is currently seeking multiple 2027 Interns in Upstream Biomanufacturing teams of Regeneron Industrial Operations and Product Supply (IOPS) Process Sciences department. This group develops and runs the manufacturing-scale processes used to grow and purify Regeneron's commercial biologic products.

When & where:

Location: Rensselaer / East Greenbush, NY

Timeframe: Our internship positions are full-time and onsite from May/June-August

Pay: Intern and Co-op pay ranges are determined by level of education (year in school) and degree program. The hourly rate range for these locations is: $17.90-$25.50 per hour.

What you'll do:

• Work with the teams that grow and maintain the living cells used to produce Regeneron's medicines.
• These projects involve working with bioreactors (the vessels used to grow cells), developing and testing cell culture processes, and collecting data to improve how cells grow and what they produce.
• Depending on your project, you might be running cell culture experiments (from shake flasks and wave bags up to arrays of benchtop single-use bioreactors), comparing small-scale and large-scale performance (including using in-line sensors and process models to understand scale-related effects), analyzing how cell culture parameters affect product quality, or developing assays such as qPCR to measure host cell proteins (impurities that come from the cells).
• Some projects also use analytical instruments such as liquid handlers and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), and some are primarily data-focused - using coding and statistical tools to turn process data into visualizations and reports.
• Basic lab skills (pipetting, aseptic technique, data recording) are helpful; some projects also use statistics or coding (such as JMP, Python, or MATLAB) to analyze results. Some projects need more, some less.

• Must be enrolled in, or accepted to, an academic program pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate degree (and be returning to school the semester following the position or graduating after the position)
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
