    Primary Duties and

    Responsibilities:

    Position Purpose:

    Provides office support to the College of Entertainment & Music Business (CEMB) Advising Office''s daily operations.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Provides office support to CEMB Advising Office for daily operations re: organizational, informational and communication needs to the advising staff, answering emails including CEMB Advising general email, answering phone calls, assisting and or fielding student questions in regards to advising needs and directing traffic during regular business hours.

    2. Assists Director and Academic Advisor as needed: Pulling reports in ARGOS related to advising and processing any CEMB course overrides requests that have been approved via the Director or department chair.

    3. Provides support to faculty regarding advising appointment calendars and other advising / registration related issues.

    4. Facilitates the Change of Major forms and processes for students changing their major to the Curb College :

    • Processing the change of major form
    • Assigning the student to a Curb College advisor
    • Communicating with the student and advisor of the change
    • Assisting students with course selections for their first semester in Curb College
    1. Provides administrative support during Summer Orientation, including checking registration grouping, lifting advisor holds and assisting in one of the CEMB rooms during the advising registration session.

    Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

    • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to respond to high-pressure situations. Ability to thrive in an environment of hard work.
    • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
    • Working knowledge of SCT Banner, Canva and ARGOS as well as the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and basic databases and software.
    • Ability to identify issues, obtain relevant information, relate and compare data from different sources, and identify alternative solutions.
    • Interprets and seeks information, uses independent reasoning to diagnose the root cause of situations or issues, identifies and tests solutions and thinks beyond what is typical or customary. Uses information to determine benefits and impact in making decision and/or recommendations.
    • Ability to coordinate and administer programs/project activities and protocols. Ability to manage resources, monitor activities, and assess risks and quality issues associated with the program/project.
    • Ability to present information to individuals or groups; ability to deliver presentations suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience. Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing to ensure that they understand the information and the message. Ability to listen and respond appropriately to others. Ability to impact and influence others to further the institution's strategic objectives.

    Required EducationEducation: Bachelor''s Degree preferred

    Required ExperienceExperience: Two years of responsible administrative support in academic office environment. Experience with SCT Banner, Oracle, ARGOS, Canva and working knowledge of databases preferred.

    The selected candidate will be required to complete a background check satisfactory to the University.
