Consumer Goods - Account Executive/HUNTER

Overview Location: Candidates living on the west coast and central time zones

We have an exciting opportunity for an Account Executive to sell the full suite of Cognizants services and solutions including Custom Application Development, Engineering & Testing Services, Infrastructure Solutions, Business Consulting Services, etc. into client organizations. This role will have responsibility for pursuing 12 to 20 major lines of business within a target of the Consumer Goods industry vertical. Accounts will typically be oriented geographically to location but may include marquee accounts throughout the U.S. Service offerings will include Application Development & Maintenance, Business Process Outsourcing, and Information Technology Outsourcing. The Account Executive will work with a client partner and team that will support all Sales pursuits. An offshore team will support a targeted marketing into designated accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pursue 12-20 major Consumer Goods accounts. Accounts are both existing accounts and new logos.
  • Act as the account lead on assigned accounts, setting the sales strategy, and taking overall responsibility for developing and nurturing the client relationship.
  • Drive growth through hunting new opportunities.
  • Build and manage client relationships. Manage the shaping and closure of opportunities on assigned accounts, leveraging Cognizant specialists to support as necessary.
  • Serve as day-to-day contact for the client where there is thin coverage of Client Partner support.
  • Scale accounts at pace.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years experience selling consulting services.
  • Minimum 7 years experience working for a Global Consulting Firm, Onshore/Offshore sales with minimum of $4M annual quota. (This may vary depending on the maturity of the Vertical that the AE is selling).
  • Minimum 5 years experience selling similar Service Offerings into Consumer Goods pursuits - Applications Development & Maintenance, Business Process Outsourcing, and Information Technology Outsourcing.
  • Demonstrated success selling deals in the $5 to $50M range selling into Consumer Goods clients.
  • Demonstrated consecutive quarterly and yearly quota achievement in complex selling environments utilizing a solution selling model.
  • Bachelors degree.

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced degree (MBA or Masters).
  • Proven ability to contribute to new business development efforts and to lead and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to manage and maintain all facets of complex assignments.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving abilities with the aptitude to identify strategic solutions to business problems with enterprise-wide implications.
  • Demonstrate the flexibility to work among diverse corporate environments, industries, and technical and non-technical audiences.

Salary and Other Compensation Applications will be accepted until Feb 28, 2026.

The annual base salary for this position is between $190,000 - $210,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizants quarterly commissions plan based on TCV sales, including annual stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizants applicable plans.
