Commercial Lines Account Manager

Position Overview

A well-established insurance organization is seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to provide exceptional service and support to a diverse commercial client portfolio. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, helping manage insurance programs, coordinate policy servicing activities, and support risk management initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be highly organized, client-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities while delivering a high level of service and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Deliver prompt, accurate, and professional service to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and responsive support.

  • Serve as a trusted resource regarding commercial insurance coverages, risk management strategies, and policy-related questions.

  • Coordinate with carrier partners and internal team members to support client needs and objectives.

Renewal & Marketing Activities

  • Manage new business and renewal processes from submission through binding.

  • Market accounts to insurance carriers and negotiate coverage options on behalf of clients.

  • Collaborate with producers and internal team members to develop competitive insurance solutions.

  • Ensure all renewal activities are completed accurately and within established timelines.

Coverage Analysis & Risk Management

  • Review existing insurance programs and contractual requirements to identify potential coverage gaps or improvements.

  • Provide coverage recommendations and educate clients regarding exposures, exclusions, and risk management considerations.

  • Coordinate claims reviews and assist clients with claims-related matters as needed.

  • Conduct contract reviews and provide insurance-related guidance.

Policy Administration

  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation within agency management systems.

  • Process and oversee policy changes, endorsements, audits, certificates of insurance, proposals, policy issuance, and related service activities.

  • Ensure client information, applications, and policy records remain current and accurate.

  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and client communication materials as required.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Adhere to established agency procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality in all work performed.

  • Support quality control initiatives and continuous process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Commercial Lines Property & Casualty insurance experience.

  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license or ability to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing.

  • Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages and risk management concepts.

  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and customer service skills.

  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in an independent insurance agency or brokerage environment.

  • Familiarity with agency management systems such as Applied Epic or similar platforms.

  • Experience handling complex commercial accounts across multiple industries.

  • Additional insurance designations or professional certifications are a plus.
