Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR Bachelors degree to include 9 semester credits in Accounting and one year of accounting experience; OR one year of satisfactory performance as an Accountant 1 in the County service is required; OR five years of Accounting experience may substitute for the required four years of college education.

Responsibilities include creating purchase orders, preparing journal vouchers and accounting entries, processing invoices for capital projects, working with the department to gather the appropriate verification of work/order to pay invoices, researching discrepancies, communicating with vendors to address payment issues, working closely with People & Internal Operations (PIOD) accounting, the Finance Department, INFORMS users, and County Departments to address resolving Financial matters and billing discrepancies. The accountant 2 is responsible for reconciling work orders to review cost allocation and process corrections as necessary, including the county-wide infrastructure investment program and capital projects.
