The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.Role and Responsibilities:Maintain and reconcile general ledger accountsPrepare monthly, quarterly and year end journal entriesKnowledge and ability to process accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash receipts, and bank reconciliationsAssist with bi-weekly in house payroll processingUnderstand payroll related reporting such as Florida Retirement System, 941's, and W-2'sOversee the identification, classification, and recording of leases and SBITAs in accordance with GASB 87 and 96 guidelinesAssist with preparation of yearly close and auditCross train and back up other areas of Finance as neededOther duties as assignedPhysical Demands:Bend, walk, sit, stand for long periodsAble to see, hear, speakRepetitive motion using coordination and dexterity abilitiesMinimum Qualifications and Education Requirements:Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting5+ years of experience in accounting; preferably in governmental accountingStrong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting regulationsProficiency in accounting software and ExcelExcellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skillsAnnual Compensation:Health, Dental, and Vision Benefits; As an employee you do not pay a premium for yourself or any covered dependents for these benefits.
