    Description

    JOB SUMMARYKidder Mathews Accounting Associate is responsible for providing accounting/financial, valuation processing, commission processing support, weekly check-run, administrative and clerical support in the Corporate Accounting Department. Assists Sr Accounting Manager and SVP Accounting & Finance with financial program monitoring and reporting. Ensures work meets Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and follows laws, regulations, policies, and contracts. A high level of detail and accuracy is required.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Follow the company's established accounting processesAssist in all aspects of day-to-day valuation administration resulting in accurate and timely paymentsCreate, validate, and audit monthly reports to ensure accuracy and completenessRespond to all inquiries relating to appraisers and other KM departmentsSupporting the processing of accounts payable invoicesSupporting as a backup for commission processing on a weekly basisSupport the processing and reconciliation of undisbursed funds including timely follow-upTrace wires received and record appropriately (supporting)Assist with month end close processing in a timely and efficient mannerProvide supporting reports for audits as requestedReview accounts and confirm reconciliation dailyAssist in producing monthly statementsSupport Appraisal onboarding and maintenance supportProactively identify, develop, and implement process improvements, documenting procedures to achieve efficiencies and scalabilityAssist in annual 1099 filings including obtaining W-9 formsAssist others within the accounting team as neededParticipate in various ad hoc projects

    Adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ensure work is in compliance with laws, regulations, policies, and contracts.The ability to multi-task and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline-oriented environmentAccurate, attentive, detail oriented, with strong analytical skillsProficient at data entry; 10 key by touchProfessional and customer-service oriented with the ability to interface with employees, management, and clientsAble to function in a team environment with demonstrated ability in problem solvingProfessional telephone etiquette with excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize and organize workload in order to meet daily, weekly, monthly and annual deadlinesProfessional level of confidentiality in handling employee informationDemonstrated high level of initiative and strong trouble shooting skillsAbility to work outside of normal office hours to meet various deadlines

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

    High School Degree or EquivalentAA in accounting is preferred

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    2+ years of related experience

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE

    PC literate (internet, Excel, Word, Outlook) and working knowledge of accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics or SL is preferred)Strong Excel skills required - high accuracy and speed in data entry to perform this job.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This is a standard office environment with standard office noise like talking, office equipment, etc.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must frequently sit and use a computer for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities are required to do this job including close vision. The employee must sometimes lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
