    Description

Accounting Manager – Alternative Asset Management Firm
    $125K–$150K Base + 20% Bonus | Boston, MA | 4 Days/Week In-Office

A growing alternative asset manager is looking to add an Accounting Manager to its multi-strategy accounting team in Boston.

This is a great opportunity for someone with 5+ years of fund accounting, public accounting, fund administration, or alternative asset management experience who wants broader ownership, more visibility, and a path toward future leadership.

The firm invests across private markets, including private credit, private equity, venture capital, and multi-strategy alternatives. This role will support fund accounting operations, administrator oversight, investor reporting, valuations, audits, regulatory filings, and new fund launches.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Oversee NAVs, financial statements, investor reporting, audits, and regulatory filings
    • Manage third-party fund administrators, auditors, banks, and service providers
    • Support internal shadow accounting, valuation materials, treasury activity, and capital activity
    • Partner with investment, client relations, compliance, and operations teams
    • Help improve accounting processes, workflows, and internal infrastructure
    • Support new fund launches and product development

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting, public accounting, fund administration, or alternative asset management
    • Strong understanding of fund operations, partnership accounting, and private markets
    • Public/private background preferred; strong public accounting candidates will also be considered
    • CPA preferred; required for candidates coming directly from public accounting
    • Experience with open-ended funds preferred; closed-end funds, private equity, credit, hedge funds, and VC experience also considered
    • Geneva experience is a plus, but fund accounting knowledge is most important
    • Strong Excel, communication, organization, and project management skills

This is a strong fit for someone coming from a larger organization who wants to own full processes, gain broader cross-functional exposure, and have more influence earlier in their career. The team is flat, collaborative, hands-on, and focused on developing future leaders.
