Position Overview

Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will oversee key accounting functions for a large real estate portfolio, manage and mentor staff, and play a critical role in the month-end close and financial reporting processes.

This position offers a blend of technical accounting, financial analysis, team leadership, and business partnership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end close process for multiple property portfolios
• 
  
• Review financial statements and ensure accuracy of reporting
• 
  
• Perform and review budget-to-actual variance analyses
• 
  
• Investigate financial variances and provide meaningful explanations to leadership
• 
  
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including direct oversight of a Senior Accountant and potentially additional team members
• 
  
• Review and oversee financial dashboards and reporting packages
• 
  
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes
• 
  
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and special projects
• 
  
• Collaborate with leadership on operational and financial initiatives
• 
  
• Support audit and compliance activities as needed
• 
  

Qualifications

• 
  
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 
  
• 4+ years of real estate accounting experience
• 
  
• Current Yardi experience is required
• 
  
• Prior lead, supervisory, or management experience
• 
  
• Strong knowledge of month-end close and financial reporting processes
• 
  
• Experience analyzing budgets and explaining financial variances
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• 
  
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities
•
