JOB SUMMARY

Maintain the organization's financial integrity, operational effectiveness, and strategic decision-making capability through disciplined accounting practices, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. This role owns and oversees all accounting operations under US GAAP, ensuring accurate, timely, and actionable financial information, and acts as a key business partner to executive leadership, providing financial insight that drives performance, accountability, and long-term value creation.

The position leads all core accounting functions - Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting, General Ledger, and Payroll - while maintaining strict adherence to internal controls, SOX compliance, and aerospace/defense regulatory requirements (ASC 606, ASC 842, ITAR, etc.).

This role requires a highly independent, self-directed professional who can operate effectively with minimal ramp-up - someone who demonstrates intellectual curiosity, pursues deep process understanding, solves problems autonomously, and continuously elevates both themselves and the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong ownership, an exceptional work ethic, and a leadership style that drives results through accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide hands-on leadership, oversight, and development of the accounting team, driving a high-performance culture centered on accountability, urgency, and continuous improvement
  • Lead by example with a strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a bias for action - setting the standard for independence and ownership
  • Translate company strategic objectives into actionable financial plans, reporting structures, and performance metrics
  • Partner directly with Senior Leadership, Operations, Engineering, and Sales to align financial results with business performance and strategic initiatives
  • Develop, mentor, and challenge team members to expand capabilities, improve technical knowledge, and increase organizational impact
  • Establish a culture of problem-solving where individuals self-learn, investigate, and implement solutions without step-by-step direction
  • Lead and coordinate all financial planning support activities, including forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, in alignment with business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements, including SOX, US GAAP, ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition), ASC 842 (Leases), and aerospace/defense compliance standards
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve internal control structures over financial reporting, inventory, revenue, and expenditures
  • Drive working capital optimization initiatives across Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and Accounts Payable
  • Support make-vs.-buy decisions, capital investments, and operational strategies through financial modeling and analysis
  • Develop and refine accounting processes that support scalability, accuracy, and efficiency in a manufacturing environment
