Accounting Manager

A well established professional services firm in Fort Lauderdale, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their finance team in an individual contributor capacity with direct, high visibility exposure to the CFO. This role owns the monthly close process and financial reporting function, offering the opportunity to work closely with firm leadership while building deep technical and operational expertise.

Responsibilities

• Own the month end close process from start to finish, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements each period.
• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages for review directly with the CFO, translating financial results into clear commentary on trends, drivers, and areas of concern.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over the close and reporting cycle, identifying process improvements and efficiencies as the firm scales.
• Partner with the CFO on ad hoc financial analysis, budgeting support, and special projects, serving as a key resource for firm level financial insight.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and firm accounting policies, staying current on relevant reporting standards and coordinating with external auditors or tax advisors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required, CPA preferred.
• Background in public accounting or a professional services environment strongly preferred.
• Strong hands on experience owning month end close and financial statement preparation.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting financial results to senior leadership.
• Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work independently in an individual contributor role.
