Job Details

Position Overview: The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and improve processes as the business expands. This role combines direct accounting execution with team leadership and offers potential for advancement into a Controller position.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and cash management.
• Maintain financial controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and automation.
• Manage fixed assets, depreciation, and project-related capitalization.
• Provide timely financial reporting and analysis to senior leadership.
• Support audits, tax compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and external reporting.
• Assist with grant reporting, insurance matters, benefits administration, and other operational needs.
• Supervise accounting staff while remaining actively involved in daily execution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing or operational environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Ownership of month-end close
• Account reconciliations experience
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred
