Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations while partnering closely with executive leadership to improve financial processes, strengthen internal controls, and support continued organizational growth.
This is a highly visible role responsible for managing the month-end close process, overseeing accounting staff, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies across the accounting function.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable personnel
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls
Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to leadership
Partner with operations to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy
Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and variance analysis
Coordinate annual audits and prepare audit schedules supporting external auditors
Support ERP implementations, system enhancements, and accounting automation initiatives
Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and scalable workflows
Identify opportunities to improve efficiencies, strengthen controls, and support business growth
Participate in special projects, acquisitions, and accounting integration initiatives as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
7+ years of progressive accounting experience
2+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close
Experience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIF/SUMIFS, and financial analysis
Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics GP/D365, SAP, Oracle, Sage, or similar
Strong analytical, organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CPA-track preferred
Experience supporting multi-entity organizations
Manufacturing, distribution, construction, healthcare, or private equity-backed company experience preferred
Experience leading process improvements, ERP implementations, acquisitions, or accounting transformation initiatives is highly desirable
Proven ability to develop accounting teams and improve operational efficiency
Pay Details: $55.00 to $65.00 per hour
