Accounting Manager

FirstCash Holdings, Inc. is seeking an experienced and results-driven Accounting Manager to join our Finance team. This leadership role is responsible for supporting critical accounting operations, overseeing the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and driving continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with strong technical accounting expertise and a passion for developing high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support month-end and quarter-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and other accounting transactions.
• Manage lease accounting activities in compliance with ASC 842.
• Maintain adherence to internal controls and support SOX compliance initiatives.
• Coordinate and assist with external audit requests and deliverables.
• Research and analyze technical accounting matters, including the implementation of new accounting standards and complex transactions.
• Identify and implement process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency within accounting operations.
• Assist with the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
• Partner with FP&A, Legal, Tax, Operations, Licensing, and other departments on recurring and special projects.
• Prepare financial analyses, variance explanations, and recommendations to support business decisions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with leadership across the organization to align accounting objectives with broader business strategies.

Scope of the Role

• Manage one or more core accounting functions.
• Support vendor relationships and external service providers as needed.
• Exercise independent judgment and ownership in managing projects, deadlines, and deliverables.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives that enhance financial reporting and operational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor''s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
• CPA designation preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and SOX/internal control requirements.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Experience with NetSuite and ProLease is preferred.
