Accounting Manager

Department: FinancePosition Title: Accounting ManagerSupervisor: ControllerFSLA Status: ExemptDate: January 2025Annual Salary range: $75,000 to $95,000ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Supervise accounting staff of assigned units, including but not limited to:Answering questions promptly and accurately, solving day to day issues, assist with coding and other accounting matters, etc.Ensuring accurate and consistent account codingReview and approve Journal Entries, A/P, Expense/Reimbursement, and A/R WorkflowsClosing assigned units by standard deadlineTraining new & existing staff and evaluating their performanceCovering staff absences appropriatelyReviewing month end closing packets for completeness and accuracySupporting and performing the financial function related to any government or non-government grants as necessaryASSIST OFFICERS AND FINANCIAL PLANNING AND BUDGETING ANALYST, INCLUDING BUT LIMITED TO:Analysis of financial reports and financial issuesBudget preparation and analysisPrepare annual audit schedules and reports as assigned by ControllerImplement financial policies and procedures as determined by Territorial and Divisional Headquarters for all areas of accounting and financial reportingMaintain appropriate internal audit control safeguards over accounting functionsAssist the Controller in daily oversight, accounting guidance and other tasks as needed complete month-end and year-end functions and filings of the Finance DepartmentInteract with other TSA departments and staff as needed.SKILLS/TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE:Bachelor's degree in accountingMinimum of 5 years of prior experience in accounting and reconciliations and 3-4 years of supervisory experienceProficient in Excel and Word and computerized accounting softwareDirect experience with external auditsValid Hawaii driver's licenseTravel off-island as necessaryEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.For further information, please review the Know Your Rights notice from the Department of Labor.#J-18808-Ljbffr
