Description
Leap Brands is recruiting for an Accounting Manager for a growing restaurant company looking for someone who understands accounting, financial discipline, and how to support operations in a fast moving environment.
This is an individual contributor role for someone who likes ownership, accountability, and being hands-on with the financial side of the business. We are not looking for someone who only wants to manage people and delegate work. This role will be heavily involved in the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company.
The ideal candidate understands the complexity of restaurant operations including labor, food cost, inventory, multi-unit reporting, cash flow management, and operational financial performance.
Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions
Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation
Ensure accuracy of P&Ls, balance sheets, cash flow reporting, and operational reporting
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Analyze restaurant-level financial performance including labor, food cost, sales trends, and operating expenses
Partner with operations leadership to identify financial opportunities and operational inefficiencies
Maintain internal controls and accounting processes to support growth and accuracy
Assist with audit preparation, tax support, and external accounting relationships
Monitor AP, AR, cash management, and banking activity
Help improve financial systems, reporting visibility, and accounting workflows
Support leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requests
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
4+ years of accounting or finance experience within restaurants, hospitality, retail, franchise, or multi-unit environments
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation
Strong Excel and financial systems skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross functionally with operations and leadership
CPA or public accounting experience is a plus but not required
