Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a manufacturing partner located in the St Paul area needing to add to their Accounting Team! If you have 1-3 years of Accounting leadership experience and are looking for an opportunity that will vaule your expertise daily then apply today!

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (or applicable standards), internal controls, and company policies.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, including performance management and training.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities in partnership with finance leadership.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement efficiencies through automation and best practices.
  • Maintain and enhance accounting systems, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
  • CPA designation (preferred).
  • 5-8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
