Position Summary
Edera is seeking an experienced and results-driven Accounting Managerfor the organization's accounting operations and financial reporting functions. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the organization's day-to-day accounting operations, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
Prepare, analyze, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely completion of journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
Develop, implement, and maintain effective accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and financial integrity.
Perform detailed account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Monitor and forecast cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity and support organizational financial planning.
Maintain the organization's fixed asset schedule, including acquisitions, depreciation, disposals, and asset impairments.
Prepare financial analyses, executive reports, and dashboards that provide meaningful insights to support strategic business decisions.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal regulations, company policies, and applicable government contracting requirements.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities by partnering with executive leadership.
Collaborate with external auditors during annual financial audits and coordinate responses to audit requests and findings.
Maintain organized financial records and documentation to support audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, improve operational efficiencies, and strengthen internal financial controls.
Communicate financial information clearly and effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
Perform additional accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting required.
Public Accounting experience a plus
Experience
Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility in mid to large tier Company
Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes.
Strong background in financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Experience with project accounting, including tracking project costs, budgets, and expenditures.
Experience supporting government contract accounting is strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and DCAA compliance is highly desirable.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail with a proactive, results-oriented approach.
Technical Skills
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, lookup functions, financial reporting, and data analysis.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Accounting and ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar financial management platforms is preferred.
Additional Requirements
Must be a United States citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
