Accounting Manager

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, including depreciation schedules and account roll-forwards
  • Review monthly expense trends and annual budgets, ensuring accuracy and clear variance explanations
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to senior leadership, including Group VPs
  • Guide and review work from Senior Accounting Analysts and Accountants, ensuring high-quality reporting and reconciliations
  • Act as the primary financial liaison between operations and finance (payroll, AP, contracts, revenue)
  • Lead balance sheet reconciliation processes and prepare supporting schedules
  • Maintain detailed tracking of questions, action items, and follow-ups for assigned locations
  • Develop and document financial workflows, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and consistency
  • Support cross-training initiatives to ensure team coverage and knowledge sharing
  • Manage complex, high-volume issues while maintaining accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure reporting quality through standardized checklists and documentation
  • Identify errors, take ownership, and implement process improvements to prevent recurrence

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proven experience as an Accounting Manager with direct reports
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred) and Microsoft Office
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • CPA preferred but not required
