Accounting Manager

Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounting Manager for a respected healthcare services organization. This is a remote contract opportunity with strong potential to convert to a full-time position. Candidates must reside within the Pacific Time Zone to support collaboration with the accounting team.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accounting Manager will partner closely with the Controller to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and process improvements. This individual will lead a team of four accounting professionals while ensuring accurate month-end close activities, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the organization's Workday ERP implementation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting leader with a healthcare services background who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and provide leadership to a team of four accounting professionals.

  • Manage month-end close activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger functions.

  • Partner with the Controller to prepare accurate financial reporting and maintain compliance with accounting standards.

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and healthcare-related financial reporting requirements.

  • Support the implementation and optimization of Workday ERP while identifying opportunities for process improvements.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support financial operations and organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.

  • Previous accounting experience within a healthcare services organization is required.

  • Experience with financial compliance, reporting, and internal controls.

  • Hands-on experience with Workday is required; NetSuite experience is highly preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
