If you are looking for a role that helps support meaningful, patient-centered care, this is your opportunity to make a difference!How You'll Make a Difference The Mgr, Accounting is responsible for managing the accounting staff, systems, and operations including general accounting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable/billing. This position sets the direction (in collaboration with the Controller) for the department by enforcing and establishing policies and procedures that are efficient and have strong internal controls. The Accounting Manager assures that accounting operations are consistent with corporate policy, regulatory requirements, and specific goals.Key Responsibilities Accounting, Financial Management, and Reporting Manage month-end and year-end closing process and coordinate the interim, year-end, and other financial auditsServe as subject matter expert and interact with organizational leadership concerning financial information, statistics, budget variances, organizational initiatives, and finance department policies and proceduresManage, in collaboration with the Controller, the preparation of tax filingsManage financial statements, as well as special reporting requests, analysis, and reconciliationsKeep current with regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable contract and regulatory reporting requirementsCreate and maintain strong systems of internal controls.Manage Staff Hire, train, engage and retain department staff.Assign, direct and verify the work of direct reports.Assess staff performance and provide feedback, coaching, correction, and development opportunitiesFinancial Information Systems Support Maintain chart of accounts and assign codes in accordance with internal and external reporting requirements, and maintain the ledger and accounting systemServe as reporting expert for financial and management information reportingServe as administrator on paperless AP system, managing access rights and training new usersEngage in continuous improvement and education regarding all Financial Information SystemsBudget Work with cost managers on their cost centers, facilitate data inputs, assure quality, and provide technical assistanceCounsel department managers on budget strategy and meaningful presentation of complex financial information, and serve in a leadership role in the development and finalizing of the Foundation BudgetAssist in the development of the capital budgetOther Duties Participate in internal work groups, meetings, and committees relative to position responsibilities.Ensure compliance with Agrace policies and protocols, state, federal, and other regulations.Develop and adhere to annual department operating budget.You Bring (Qualifications) Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation or eligibility is preferredFive years' experience of general accounting (financial reporting and analysis, preparation of general ledger entries, reconciling general ledger accounts)Prior accounting management experienceAdvanced level experience in Microsoft Office Suite and other financial industry softwareAbility to demonstrate exceptional theoretical and practical knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards and best practicesAbility to work effectively and cooperatively with othersExperience using industry specific softwareExperience working in a healthcare environmentAbility to communicate financial/business/technical/clinical information to all levels of the organizationExperience developing policy and procedureExperience in project management, strategic planning and execution, budgeting, and controlling costsAbility to engage staff in Agrace's strategic and annual operating plans and LEAN projects and to ensure strategies and improvements remain in practiceAbility to maintain confidentiality about patients, families, caregivers, staff, donors, and organizational intellectual property.Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicleAbility to use proper body mechanics and standard precautionsAbility to be flexible in time and task to meet organizational needsBenefits Competitive pay with free parkingHealth, dental, and vision insurance for employees who are hired for 28+ hours per week (.7 FTE +)Retirement plans with employer matchingGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO) and holiday paid time offComprehensive onboarding, mentorship, and career developmentAgrace Health Inc is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.#J-18808-Ljbffr
