This is a unique opportunity to combine technical accounting expertise with meaningful leadership while supporting programs that make a real difference in the community.What You'll Do:Lead & Develop a High-Performing TeamSupervise, coach, and mentor Staff AccountantsProvide ongoing feedback, performance management, and professional development opportunitiesCreate onboarding and cross-training programs that strengthen team capabilitiesFoster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvementOversee Core Accounting FunctionsManage general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closeReview balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variancesEnsure accurate cost allocations and adherence to accounting proceduresOversee revenue and expense recording in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standardsPrepare financial statements and management reportsEnsure Compliance & Financial IntegrityStrengthen internal controls, policies, and proceduresMonitor compliance with grants, contracts, donor restrictions, and regulatory requirementsCoordinate annual audits and support external reviewsIdentify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficienciesPartner Across the OrganizationCollaborate with program, HR, and operational teams on financial reporting and codingProvide financial guidance and training to non-finance staffServe as a trusted resource for financial problem-solving and decision supportWhat You Bring:Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field10+ years of accounting experience5+ years of supervisory or leadership experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controlsExperience working in nonprofit, governmental, or grant-funded environmentsProven ability to develop, motivate, and lead accounting professionalsPreferred QualificationsCPA or CMA designationExperience with federal grants and Uniform GuidanceExperience using nonprofit accounting software such as NetSuite, MIP, Financial Edge, Sage, or IntacctOn-site presence will be required. This is a hybrid position requiring both remote and onsite work.
