Project Accounting & Financial Management

  • Lead the end-to-end project accounting lifecycle, including:
    • Client billings and revenue recognition
    • Subcontractor/vendor payments
    • Change order tracking and management
    • Cost projections, job costing, and WIP reporting
  • Monitor financial performance across projects and provide insights on cost, budget, and profitability
  • Partner closely with Operations, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to support project success

Process Improvement & Standardization

  • Establish and enforce standardized processes across teams and regions to ensure consistency and scalability
  • Develop and maintain documentation for key accounting and project workflows
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
  • Implement and support technology solutions, including ERP systems and reporting tools
  • Conduct regular quality reviews and ensure adherence to internal controls

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and executive leadership
  • Communicate financial insights clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences
  • Collaborate with external partners, including auditors, vendors, and regulatory entities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4-7+ years of progressive accounting or project accounting experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience managing teams, ideally across multiple locations
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices
  • Experience with project-based or cost accounting (construction or similar industry preferred)
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition, WIP reporting, and cost tracking methodologies
  • Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools; advanced Excel skills required
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA, or equivalent) are a plus
