Accounting Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting functions, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership abilities, and a proven track record of maintaining accurate financial records while driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the monthly and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Oversee the fixed asset accounting process, including asset additions, disposals, and depreciation.
• Manage commission calculations and payment processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established policies.
• Prepare and submit governmental, regulatory, and industry reports as required.
• Oversee the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support annual audits and serve as a primary contact for external auditors.
• Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to leadership.
• Perform variance analysis and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency within the accounting function.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments and provide accounting guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• CPA designation strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
• Proven experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
