Position Overview:

Wunder-Bar, a Middleby company, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for our manufacturing facility in Vacaville, California. This is an onsite position.

This position will be responsible for financial reporting, month-end close, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, inventory and cost accounting, internal controls, and financial analysis. The Accounting Manager will work closely with Operations, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Middleby Corporate Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting and support business decisions.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage daily accounting activities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash, and reconciliations.
• Lead the monthly and year-end close process and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and financial schedules.
• Oversee inventory accounting, physical inventories, cycle counts, adjustments, and inventory variances.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor, overhead, scrap, and production variances.
• Track and monitor project costs, ensuring expenses are accurately recorded, reconciled, and aligned with project budgets.
• Partner with Operations to identify cost savings and process improvement opportunities.
• Monitor fixed assets and capital expenditures.
• Assist in the preparation of capital expenditure requests and provide support in calculating ROI, ROA, and payback analysis.
• Support annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning.
• Provide support in calculating commissions, rebates, and dealer incentives as requested.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting requirements.
• Coordinate internal and external audit requests.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to the Division President and Corporate Finance.
• Partner with HR on payroll-related accounting, benefits, accruals, and other employee-related financial matters.
• Supervise, develop, and support accounting team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting.
• Manufacturing inventory and cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively across multiple departments.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Experience leading or supervising an accounting team preferred.

• BOM and inventory accounting
• Capital expenditure and fixed asset management
• Budgeting and forecasting
• Internal and external audits
• Multi-site or corporate manufacturing environment
• CPA or CMA preferred, but not required

Salary Description

$95,000 - $120,000
