    Description

    Overview
    Provides mid‑level accounting support across routine and complex financial activities. Responsible for coordinating daily accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and reporting.

    Key Responsibilities
    • Manage day‑to‑day accounting workflows and ensure compliance with established financial policies.
    • Analyze financial data such as statements, SLAs, billing records, and system outputs; identify and resolve discrepancies.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts and support accruals for financial statements.
    • Provide technical guidance on accounting processes and assist managers with financial policy development.
    • Maintain internal controls to ensure data accuracy and record integrity.
    • Review processes and recommend efficiencies.
    • Prepare and present financial reports to senior managers.
    • Enter and validate accounting data in Sponsor‑specific financial systems.
    • Support financial forecasting and Working Capital Fund (WCF) analysis.
    • Contribute to system testing and provide functional expertise for financial system improvements.
    •  May assist with tax filings, complex reconciliations, and analysis of WCF business statements.

    Required Skills & Knowledge
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, FASAB, and FASB principles.
    • Knowledge of federal appropriation law and Sponsor financial policies.
    • Ability to analyze financial information, diagnose issues, and recommend solutions.
    • Strong customer service capabilities and ability to explain financial concepts to non‑accountants.
    •  Skilled in financial systems and how they interface across platforms.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong analytical, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Experience: Minimum 4 years of professional accounting experience.
    Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 24 accounting credit hours (including business law or auditing).
    Certifications: None required.
