Job Description
Core Hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 2:00pm
Approximately 30 hours per week
Role Overview
Leads advanced accounting and financial operations, including complex reconciliations, financial reporting, tax documentation, and oversight of data integrity. Supports Working Capital Fund activities and provides guidance to managers and staff on financial processes and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure adherence to financial policies.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accurate financial data.
- Analyze financial information across multiple systems and brief senior leaders.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve complex discrepancies.
- Support preparation of financial statements and advanced tax filings.
- Contribute to Working Capital Fund reviews, forecasts, and pricing analyses.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise for financial systems, testing, and process improvements.
- Supervise contractor personnel as assigned.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, FASAB, FASB, and federal appropriations law.
- Expertise in accounting systems and data‑quality practices.
- Advanced analytical, diagnostic, and reporting skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial topics to senior leaders and non‑accountants.
- Strong written communication and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 8+ years of professional accounting experience.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; must meet CPA educational requirements.
Certification: Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
