ESSENTIAL DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES.Essential duties and responsibilities include:ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR:Supervise and train team of 4-5 accountants ensuring high quality work and adherence to deadlines.Review and approval of journal entries, recurring month-end closing tasks, and cash deposits. Assist in resolving accountants' issues and discrepancies on tasks. (ex: fixed assets, depreciation, chemical recon)Monthly review of mock financials for any errors/budget to actual variancesAssist the Assistant Controller and Controller with research and special projects and field questions when either is unavailable.Support the accounts payable team with invoice-related questions as needed.Provide support to Farm Managers with any issues/questions regarding financials.Review and help with year-end tax preparation.Review balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy of accruals and contracts, including tree/vine deposits, payroll taxes, garnishments, insurance, rent, and other relevant accounts.Review and help accounting team prepare agricultural and business equipment statements.Analyze property taxes (secured and unsecured) for annual payments and any supplemental assessments.Proactively identify areas for process improvement and spot potential errors in accounting work; and document processes clearly and concisely.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS.5-7+ years of relevant experience in the accounting field. Supervisor/Management experience preferred.B.S. in accounting, finance, or related course work;Demonstrate a deep understanding of accounting principles and accounting procedures;Computer software skills with MS Office programs, including advanced Excel with pivot table knowledge;Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to complete tasks with minimal supervisionExcellent communication skills with ability to build productive relationshipsExperience in agriculture industry preferred, not required#J-18808-Ljbffr
