Our client, a well established company in Bakersfield, CA is looking for a talented Accounting Supervisor. The Accounting Supervisor oversees daily accounting operations, ensures the accuracy of financial records, supervises accounting staff, and supports financial reporting and compliance activities. This role is responsible for maintaining internal controls, reviewing transactions, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and company policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of accounting staff.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Maintain compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.
  • Analyze financial data and prepare management reports.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 3–7 years of accounting experience, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
