We are seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager / Accounting Supervisor to oversee the day‑to‑day accounting functions for a growing construction company. This is an individual contributor role ideal for someone who enjoys being deeply involved in the accounting operations while partnering closely with ownership and project teams.The ideal candidate will have strong construction accounting experience, including job costing, WIP reporting, and project‑based financial management. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational decision‑making, and helping improve accounting processes as the company continues to grow.Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and bank reconciliationsPrepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsPerform month‑end and year‑end close processesMaintain compliance with GAAP and company accounting policiesAssist ownership with financial reporting, analysis, and operational insightsJob Costing & Construction AccountingMaintain accurate job costing across multiple projectsPrepare and manage Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) reportingTrack project costs, revenue recognition, and profitabilityWork closely with project managers and operations teams to review project financial performance and budgetsAnalyze variances and provide recommendations to improve project profitabilityBudgeting, Forecasting & Cash FlowAssist with budgeting and forecasting processesMonitor cash flow and support financial planning activitiesHelp identify financial risks, cost‑saving opportunities, and operational efficienciesSupport leadership with ad hoc financial analysis and reportingProcess Improvement & ComplianceHelp improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and internal controlsCoordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, banks, and tax partnersEnsure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirementsSupport ERP/accounting system maintenance and optimizationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5–10+ years of accounting experience, preferably within construction, mechanical contracting, or project‑based environmentsStrong understanding of: job costing, WIP reporting, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, construction/project accountingExperience working in a hands‑on accounting role within a small to mid‑size company environmentProficiency with accounting/ERP systems such as Sage 300, Viewpoint, Foundation, or similarAdvanced Excel and financial reporting skillsStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesPreferred ExperienceBackground in HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, or general contracting industriesExperience supporting multiple active construction projects simultaneouslyCPA or CMA designation is a plus, but not required#J-18808-Ljbffr
