Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to grow with a fast-moving company? Detritus is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Savannah team. You'll manage provider cards, process invoices, and keep our payments running smoothly — with real ownership of the AP function in a company that's scaling nationally. ABOUT DETRITUS Detritus is a third-party brokerage that connects clients seeking construction site services with a nationwide network of providers. Our customers know us as Dumpster Rental Dogs and Porta Potty Dogs; our provider network knows us as Detritus. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Prepare, load, and record credit cards. • Maintain accurate general ledger journal entries. • Manage the Accounts Payable Dashboard on Salesforce, including accounting reports. • Process accounts payable invoices and make provider payments promptly. • Prepare sales and use tax returns. • Provide support for internal and external audits. • Collaborate with other departments to resolve accounting issues. • Prepare expense reports. • Assist the Accounts Receivable team as needed. • Other accounting duties as assigned. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred — relevant experience may substitute. • 1–2 years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably with rental invoicing. • Advanced knowledge of Excel and accounting software. • Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices. • Excellent problem-solving and research skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Commitment to accuracy and attention to detail.
