The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a key role in supporting the mission of the organization by ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant processing of vendor payments. This position works closely with program staff, finance leadership, and external vendors to maintain strong financial controls while delivering excellent internal and external customer service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and motivated by purpose-driven work.Responsibilities Process high-volume accounts payable transactions, including invoices, credit memos, and employee reimbursementsReview invoices for accuracy, proper coding, approvals, and compliance with organizational policies and grant requirementsPrepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfersMaintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s and payment termsReconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely and professional mannerAssist with month-end close activities related to accounts payable, including accruals and account reconciliationsSupport annual audits by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiriesEnsure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and internal controlsCollaborate with program and operations teams to answer payment-related questionsAssist with 1099 preparation and reporting as neededQualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred2+ years of accounts payable experience; nonprofit or fund accounting experience strongly preferredExperience working with accounting software and electronic invoice systemsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environmentSolid understanding of internal controls and accounting best practicesProficiency in Microsoft Excel and general office softwareExcellent communication and customer service skillsWhat We Offer Meaningful work that directly supports community-focused programsCollaborative and mission-driven work environmentOpportunities for professional growth and development#J-18808-Ljbffr
